Tabletop Cork Turkeys

Thanksgiving is just a few days away, yet there is still plenty of time to make these tabletop cork turkeys.

We love using corks in projects, like printing with them to make cork spiders or crafting cute cork bats. These little tabletop turkeys were just as quick to put together and just too cute! We're planning to put a whole flock on the table this coming Thursday.

Materials:
Corks
Small feathers (the ones we used are both little and firm, so they worked great)
Google Eyes
Washi Tape (we used gold)
Brown and orange construction paper
Permanent marker
Glue

Begin by using the washi tape to secure the feathers to the back of the cork. We found it worked best to break off a small piece, attach one end of the tape, and then place the feathers close to where it was attached.

After the feathers were in place, we wrapped the tape around the whole cork, overlapping where the tape was on the other side so that it was one even line around the whole thing.

Now the cork for the rest of the turkey pieces.

We used permanent marker to draw on legs. We then glued on googly eyes. We also cut out brown oval "wings" and a small, orange triangle "beak" out of the construction paper. Those pieces were also glued on.

We made several tabletop cork turkeys within just about 20 minutes!

Other Thanksgiving to-do's this week include hanging up our family turkey handprint wreath,  make our thankful trees, and put together some Thanksgiving table activity bags

  1. These are so cute! I've got to get some corks - there's just too many cork crafts I want to try. I think this one will be at the top of my list! Thanks for sharing at the Thoughtful Spot!
