Halloween Sensory Bin

We're eagerly looking forward to Halloween tomorrow, it's one of our favorite holidays. Earlier this week we set up this fun Halloween sensory bin to tide over our excitement until the actual holiday.

Materials included dried beans, both large lima beans and black beans, and clear marbles. I also added in a collection of bugs and creepy crawlies from the dollar store. Last year I found the small Halloween house on clearance from JoAnn's Fabric Store, and it was fun for Big Brother to use it with the bugs. I pulled some small, foam skeleton heads from our Halloween decorations collection. Finally, I added in a couple of real pumpkins and one small pretend jack-o-lantern.

As always, I was really impressed with Big Brother's imagination as he moved the creatures through the bin and created different scenarios for them.

We let Little Brother explore too, although he had to be closely monitored to ensure he didn't get any of the small pieces into his mouth. He loved digging to the bottom.

As fun as the bin is, we can't wait for some official Halloween fun tomorrow!
